Preprocessor Input - Execution on Developers machine - Post Processor View and Save Output FAQ

In this case a user develops an input file on a preprocessor which he has downloaded form the EPC Server site. The input file is sent to the developers IP address and an automatic execution takes place. The developer's system then sends the output file back to the user for viewing and saving.

There are three programs required for this process

  • A Preprocessor/PostProcessor Program
  • An Automatic Execution Program
  • The application running the analysis

Lets discuss the Automatic Execution Program first

EPC Server has developed an automatic execution program called APPWATCH. It works with most windows based programs. A developer downloads the APPWATCH program from our web site and runs the setup program. The setup program requires the developer to mirror keys which are input to open the input file, execute the analysis, save the output file, and close the application. The program stays resident (in the system tray) and watches a specific directory for an input file to come in. The APPWATCH program performs the following functions.

  • When started it notifies our servers you are on line and provides our servers with your IP address.
  • When an input file is sent to your system APPWATCH starts the application and runs through the script to save the output file in a specific directory.
  • APPWATCH sends the output file back to the user and sends a confirmation to our servers for invoicing purposes.
  • APPWATCH is configured to be able to wait for up to 10 different type of input files to run up to 10 different applications, or a different sequence of key entries for the same application.

The Application Program can be any technical program you want. It does need to be Windows based and commands need to be menu driven.

Now let us discuss the PreProcessor/PostProcessor

The Preprocessor Program serves the following functions

When Loaded it checks our server to verify that the application (the developer) is on line
  • It provides a login for the user
  • It provides the interface for developing all data required for the input file
  • It provides a means to save the input data
  • It provides an interface to send the input data to the developer
  • It provides a prompt on the application fee required to run the application
  • It provides an interface to recieve the output file.
  • It provides an interface to view, save, and print the output file.
  • It provides information back to EPC Server on output file reciept for invoicing purposes.

If EPC Server selects your software for our site we will assist you in the development of the pre & post processor. This development may take some time so you need to be patient with our staff. We will offer a proposed schedule and you need to be dilligent in responding to any and all of our questions. You will be responsible for testing and qualification of the program. If you want EPC Server to develop the preprocessor, the means to send us information will be provided to you via EMail after your program has been approved. Click HERE to submit a program request.

The following is the decision tree for this process
