Dynamic Analysis - Single Degree of Freedom - Damped System

This analysis provides Displacements, Velocities, Accellerations, and Reactions for a single degree of freedom damped system. To start, the forcing function is required to be input. A forcing function may be input as time vs. force where force is applied to the mass or time vs. accelleration where accelleration excitation is applied to the base of the system.

The forcing function may be input manually or through a file upload. If you wish to input the data manually complete the following:

Input the number of time increments to be used for the forcing function

To upload your forcing function, a text file needs to be developed in the following format:

NUMBER OF DATA POINTS
TIME 1,FORCE 1 (or Accelleration 1)
TIME 2,FORCE 2 (or Accelleration 2)
TIME 3, FORCE 3(or Accelleration 3)

For example, the file should look as follows:

5,
.01,45,
.02,75,
.03,32.5,
.04,22.5,
.05,-10.2,

Note that each data point must be comma delimited between the time and force and a comma needs to be present after the force. Both the path and the file name must be input below.

Select the file for upload

On Submittal of the final screen your account will be charged $5.00
